Asociación Aguayo, Bolivia

Oxfam is proud to work with Asociación Aguayo  and its partner Fundación InternetBolivia.org to promote digital rights in Bolivia.

Both organisations have combined their technical capabilities to counter online gender-based violence and achieve more digital inclusion and autonomy through art, as a right and pedagogical tool.

Working with Oxfam as part of the ReCIPE project will help Asociación Aguayo and Fundación InternetBolivia.org with their work.

  • They will strengthen recognition of the rights of women and the LGBTQI+ population in the digital space. This especially includes those who are driving social and political transformations and are from rural areas in Bolivia.

  • They will set up a network that allows the exchange of knowledge with organisations from different countries. By combining their voices, they can achieve greater influence to build an online environment free of violence.

The importance of this project is evident, as Asociación Aguayo and Fundación InternetBolivia.org recognise that online environments need to be safe and open for the participation of women and LGBTQI+ population. Digital divides and high levels of gender violence affects mental health, quality of life, rights and the quality of democracy in general.
